Christmas Gift Guide 2025
It’s that time of year again! And whilst like all of my gift guides post 2020 the world is still very much a wild place, this year it truly feels like Christmas has come early and we are here for it. Perhaps because we have had so many strange, uncertain years, and truly devastating world news, everyones needed their twinkly lights up early.
We are thrilled to be having a fun and busy end of the year, with some very exciting patchwork curtains being sewn (a bit like these ones), our very first painting exhibition at the studio and a festive pop-up to boot. We have still made the time to browse our favourite makers to put together the very best 10 gifts from small businesses.
Shopping small this festive season is the best way to support independent businesses. We read an eye opening little statistic that Nina Bombina shared and we can’t stop thinking about it. “If everyone in the UK swapped just one gift purchase from a major retailer to an independent shop, we could redirect £1.02billion back into the small business economy” - Office for National Statistics, 2025. That feels acheivable, so let’s do it!
Here’s our pick of the best gifts this December. Let us know if you get one!
We could buy everything from Folka, but these joyful star chains are top of our list
2. This small and perfectly formed stripy candle stick from Casa de Folklore is perfect for dark days at home
3. These jolly napkins by Anart.Cuirm would really brighten up your Christmas table
4. We’re pretty sure you can never have enough scrunchies, especially when they are handmade from lovely fabric scraps by Bug Clothing
5. Is there anything better than the optimism of a fresh diary or calendar? We love this zingy one by Maria Zvaric
6. Treat the dog or cat in your life with these beautiful handmade bowls from Studio Alice Johnson
7. Lora Avedian’s brass decorations based on her drawings can hang proudly in your home all the year round. We want this echinacea one.
8. A print of Lauri Hopkin’s special collages, made using discarded materials such as vintage books
9. When they don’t need more things, get them the very best coffee. Old Spike is delicious and is on a mission to end homelessness
10. Better Things in Forest Hill has some lovely things, one of our favourites is this ceramic spoon rest by Pik-Yan.
We’d be happy to open any of these on Christmas day (those bowls are good enough for humans) and we hope you’ve found just the piece you’ve been looking for!
