Design Stories: Merida collection

My latest collection of trays and textiles is inspired by a trip around Mexico last October, we travelled from Tulum via the mountains of San Cristobal and the beaches of Oaxaca to Mexico City.

In Merida I was captivated by the accidental colour blocking in the streets and in Mexico City I couldn’t stop drawing the churches.

The resulting collection is a representation of a small portion of the colours and architecture that I was privileged to spend a month exploring, I feel like I have only just scratched the surface with this project and am really excited to see where it goes next.

Below are a few images showing the progression from initial drawings to the finished designs, it has been fascinating for me to look back over this year long development process so I hope you enjoy it too.
